On December 9, Perry and Lane fought in a crowd at a BKFC event in Tampa, Florida, which led to the KnuckleMania fight.
Perry made his MMA debut in 2014 and joined the UFC in 2016. He has finished 2-4 in the last six games. In November, he faced Michael Seals in a boxing match vs. MMA over Triller. Perry also participated in several non-combat fights.
Lane began his bare joint career in 2018. With BKFC he has 2-4; his last match was a loss to David Rickels last June. He is mostly known for his “Let me bang, bro” line during “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Mendes, 36, left the UFC in 2018 after losing through TKO to Alexander Volkanovsky at UFC 232. It is unknown who he will fight KnuckleMania.
Feldman also announced that Luis Palomino will defend his BKFC lightweight title against Martin Brown. The former fighter from Bellator, World Series of Fighting and ONE Championship has been leading 5-0 since joining the BKFC in 2020. He won the lightweight title that year and defended it three times. His last fight was a victory over Dat Nguyen in November.
Brown will make his BKFC debut after competing for Atlas Fights, Bellator and Titan FC. His last MMA match was in 2016 and he was on a series of eight victories.
Feldman also announced that Britain’s Beltran, formerly known as Britain Hart, will compete for the women’s flyweight title. It is not known who will be her opponent. Originally, the title was to be won at a tournament.
“We’ll see what he’s got in this fight,” Feldman said. “We’ll see what the Brit is made of. It’ll be a big test for her, and if she passes that test, I think she’s a superstar to fight bare joints. Not a star, but a superstar. I have a big test here.”
Beltran made her BKFC debut in 2020. By a unanimous decision, she defeated especially Paige VanZant in February 2021. After this match, she defeated Jenny “Savage” Clausius in July and Pearl Gonzalez in November.
