On the night it was considered a new era of All Elite Wrestling, two stars suffered brutal injuries. One wound became viral while the other was stuck after AEW Dynamite.
In the main event of AEW’s debut on TBS, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo defended the AEW Tag Team titles against Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. During the match, Luchasaurus broke through Phoenix’s table. Immediately afterwards, Fenix’s arm was badly bent and he quickly asked for medical help. The match was completed without him, Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy won the titles.
According to Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer, Fenix broke his arm. PW Insider added that there was a chance he could dislocate his elbow. So far, there is no timetable for his return. Fenix and Penta have recently been in dispute with Malakai Black, with the latter interfering in their matches.
Another injury that occurred occurred on AEW Dark. Jake Atlas, who left professional wrestling to focus on his mental health, signed with a promotion a week after his debut match at AEW Dark: Elevation. During the recordings, Atlas took on Adam Cole. The event was reported by Atlas to be holding his knee after being hit by Cole’s superkick after attempting a springboard. The end of the match was changed because he could not continue.
