College Football University is once again centered around the SEC to end the 2021 season – although the national championship match will be in Indianapolis.
No. 1 Alabama and No. 3 Georgia will compete in the National Football College Playoff Championship match in 2022 at Lucas Oil Stadium, which will be the first retaliation of the CFP match of the basic part since the introduction of the playoffs in 2014. It is also the second match. Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs will decide the national title after the 2018 championship, which Alabama won 26:23 in overtime.
Only Alabama and Clemson met more than once in the CFP era, facing each other from 2015 to 2018. The 2017 match was the only meeting that did not take place in the national championship game.

Alabama enters the game as a mild loser Bulldogs, despite inflicting their first loss of the season with a shocking 41:24 victory in the SEC championship game. Crimson Tide had to win the match just to make it to the College Football playoffs, while undefeated Georgia had a place regardless of whether she won or lost.
This victory brought Nick Saban and Alabama to the top overall ranking of the College Football Playoff in 2021, where they played Cincinnati’s No. 4 best shot in the Cotton Bowl semifinals and still won 27-6. Georgia, which fell to No. 3, bounced back for a dominant victory over No. 2 Michigan and defeated the Wolverines 34-11. These matches, along with some injuries on the Alabama roster – notably the 1,000-yard receiver John Metchie III – suggest that there will be a closer match in retaliation.

Alabama Georgia has a chance to win the national championship in 2022
Georgia opened as a 2.5-point favorite over Alabama, despite Crimson Tide’s previous victory over the Bulldogs in the SEC championship game. This limit was moved half a point further towards Georgia a week before the match, according to FanDuel. The reason is potentially Metchie’s injury associated with Georgia’s dominance over the Michigan team, which was considered more favorable than Alabama’s semi-final opponent, Cincinnati. Georgia defeated the second Wolverines 34-11 in the Orange Bowl, while Alabama defeated the fourth Bearcats 27-6 in the Cotton Bowl.
