Jermain Defoe believes that Tanguy Ndombele can push back into Antonio Conte’s plans in Tottenham.
Ndombele was associated with leaving Tottenham and his own fans booed him during Sunday’s FA Cup victory over Morecambe.
The 25-year-old reportedly coached outside the rest of the first team this week, but Defoe believes this could be positive for the midfielder.
Talk to Broadcast showDefoe said: “Sometimes I don’t think it’s always negative in a situation like this.
“I think being out of the group, as a player, you have to take it as a positive because it gives you the opportunity. When you train with a group, sometimes players can train at 60 percent because you train.” with the group and you get coaching, you can stand and you can talk.
“When you train one on one with a fitness trainer, you train 100 percent because there’s a short regeneration. So if he can approach it this way, he thinks, ‘I have to get up to speed,’ because it’s such a fantastic football club, Top manager, of course, want to get on the team and do well.
“He came for big money, he gets good salaries and sometimes I saw him and I said to myself, ‘I like that player.’ see potential.
“I don’t think being out of the group is always a bad thing, it’s just about getting up and getting the level of fitness the manager wants, and hopefully he can get back on the team.”
“Conte’s signatures can move Spurs forward”
Spurs Conte boss has not yet signed a contract during the January window, but Defoe believes Tottenham’s success in the second half of the season could depend on the Italian getting the player he wants.
Defoe said, “I think he stepped out and said he wanted an extreme defender and another attacker to maybe take the burden off Harry Kane that had been there for many years.
“I think if he can bring in the players he wants, of course it will help the team, it will help the club, because it’s someone who wants to win, someone who wants to win right away, and that’s probably what he is. had in other clubs.
“So when it comes to staff, you can understand that now he wants to bring players who are ready to play, ready to get on the team. If that can happen, then I believe that when he’s in the club, then he can move us forward, for sure. “
