Julian Edelman expects to see a pair of familiar faces in Super Bowl 56.
Edelman shared a video on his Instagram calling his parents that he bet $ 100,000 on the Patriots to meet the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl this year. His mother said he didn’t care about the price of the bet, and just said he should share it with her.
His father was less excited.
“Did you put 100,000 on it?” his father asked. “It was stupid.
“I’ll call you back. I’m not upset. I disagree. Goodbye.”

The money doesn’t come from Edelman’s career earnings on the field. Instead, he previously said on Twitter that he had received $ 100,000 from Wynnbet, an online bookmaker, for promotion. Instead, he used all that money to bet $ 50,000 for the Patriots to reach the Super Bowl, and $ 50,000 for the Buccaneers to meet them there.
According to his tweet, this advantage would win him $ 545,000. Wynnbet said the Patriots had a +750 odds at the Super Bowl and the Buccaneers at +340.

It’s a match that would probably guarantee some conflicting feelings from Edelman. The former Kent State quarterback has won three Super Bowl rings in New England, catching passes from Tom Brady and receiving playcalls from Bill Belichick.
Edelman left after the 2020 season and ended his career with 620 receptions at 6,822 yards, 36 touchdowns.

If Edelman decided to pay for the bet with money from his career, he would have a lot of money to spend. According to Spotrac, Edelman earned only $ 44 million from Patriots in 12 seasons.
