Armando Broja: Southampton wants to get forward Chelsea permanently, but faces competition | football news

Southampton is interested in signing Armando Broja on a permanent contract with Chelsea, but faces competition from other clubs.

The 20-year-old joined the Saints for seasonal hosting last summer and scored five goals in 15 Premier League games, three of them in the last five games.

Southampton is aware of the interest of other clubs after the impressive recent performances of the Albanians and will compete with them for his signature if Chelsea hears the offers.

But Chelsea is also considering whether Broja has a long-term future on Stamford Bridge, with interested clubs already asking how much it would cost to buy it this month.

Interest in Broj comes when a number of Premier League clubs are looking for a new striker in January this year.

Southampton, who is now the new owner, took a risk and gave the Chelsea Academy graduate a chance at top football in the first team.

He played only one senior game for Chelsea, and spent last season visiting Vitesse Arnhem, yet he did well in St Mary’s and the young team that Ralph Hasenhuttl put together.

Meanwhile, Southampton is not interested in selling midfielder Mohamed Salis, but there is potential interest from other clubs in defenders Jan Bednark and Yan Valery.
