The woman urges drivers to help wheelchair users with safe parking

The woman launched a social media campaign to try to inform drivers about the consequences of blocking wheelchair access by poor parking.

Umaymah Dakri, 21, of Leicester, who has a cleft spine, launched her #dontcurbtheaccess initiative on Instagram to chart her experience of being forced to hit busy roads due to drivers parked on fallen curbs.

The video she made about this issue had 5,000 views.

She said: “Curb parking can be solved if people reconsider their actions and find a safer place to park because it is not safe for people in wheelchairs like me.”
