IOLA OLD CAR SHOW and SWAP MEET - July 10-13, 2008. The Largest Automotive Extravaganza in the Midwest. Something different is in store for those who attend Iola ’07. The theme for the 35th annual car show will be Coming Up Sevens. Instead of focusing on a single make or a design for a show theme, this time around it will be on the model year. Being that the show is in 2007, the show will feature cars and trucks that had the model year ending with the number seven. Other displays include the Post War, Pre War, Blue Ribbon, Car Corral (for sale), ICA's collector car auction, and additional spaces has been added swap meet bring the total to over 4400 spaces. Iola Historical Society - Check out the Train Depot, Caboose, Old School House, Log Cabin and Helvetia Town Hall. Check out the latest project! The 1901 fire station replica will be a great addition to historical society. The historical society is currently working to raise $160,000 the projected construction cost. See the pictures labeled Iola Historical Society. A sure sign of spring is activity at the Iola Historical Society. Meetings resume in March and continue through October. IOLA HISTORICAL SOCIETY STRAWBERRY FEST - August 12, 2007 don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the days of yesteryear while enjoying strawberry shortcake at the Iola Historical Society grounds. Just West of Main Street on Depot Street. The Iola Historical Society is also raising funds for another historical building. On the horizon is an antique fire station designed after the original facility on State street in Iola. Three donated fire apparatus' will be housed in the new building. Construction is anticipated for the March of 2007.

The Iola Lions and Waupaca Riverside Hospital will sponsor PSA, Lipid Panel (cholesterol testing) and Blood Sugar testing for a small fee. Tetanus shots offered by Theda Care Physicians. The Iola Scandinavia LEO Club's Pancake breakfast will be held from 7:30a.m.-10:30a.m. Pancakes with delicious toppiings, coffee, and fruit will be served for $3.00.
